SWAMPED!

I have been super busy lately! I just got back from vacation not too long ago and have been going non-stop since then. It has been a blast but quite challenging to find my groove. So, the photo above is a shot of a few money bag wallets that I have completed for Oak, an ultra cool shop that offers handmade clothing and gifts. I am so thrilled to send these wallets and a few pillows. Oak is located in Boston. If you are near that area, drop by and check out Chakra Pennywhistle and all of the amazing designers offered!

hoot hoot!

This skirt is cut from a vintage bed sheet. I made it for Tana, the owner of the fabulous, Bohemia Artist Emporium. It is a small thank you for asking me to participate in their fashion show. I had a wonderful time and just can't thank Tana enough!

For those who are interested, I will be uploading some product shots from the show very soon!

Wedding Gift....

My friend is getting married today. I made her a pillow. It is organic cotton twill stuffed with raw organically grown cotton. The appliqué is cut from a vintage tea towel calendar. I then machine stitch the circle.

These appliqué calendars are available in my shop. I think that they make such a simple and modern announcement:)

FAHION SHOW! April 26th @ Bohemia!

I just got the post card for the fashion show! It is awesome!!!! The art work was done by a local artist and fashion show participant, Mel Dominguez. I truly can't believe that I am showing my wares with such talented people!! I am getting so excited and a little scared! This will be my first show ever.

If you look closely at the post card, you can see my little designs on the front. They are the arrows, trees, birds, and stars:) A big thank you to Bohemia for putting this on! Also, a huge thank you to Mel for designing the ultra cool card.

Patterns!

So, I went to Hancock fabric today to pick up a few supplies. Low and behold, they were having a sale on their patterns! The last day of the sale is today. I had no idea. It's weird but I really dread going to fabric shops. I guess I prefer the thrill of hunting and finding fabric in thrifts, estate sales, etc.

Anyway, I scored Built by Wendy patterns for 1.99 each as opposed to 14.95. WOOOHOOO! I love her patterns and can't wait to try them. I have been wanting them for a while. If you haven't already, drop by the Built by Wendy site. The spring 2008 collection is FABULOUS!!!

Fashion Show: Sneak Peek!

Bohemia Artist Emporium will be presenting a fashion show on April 26th. I am so thrilled to be a part of it!!!!

I am nowhere near ready but I have a couple of designs laid out. I am printing my own fabric. Using organic cotton sateen for 3 separate pieces. All three will be screen printed sharing the same recycling theme. Haven't decided on a color scheme. I plan to make a circle skirt, a type of shift dress, and a strapless cocktail dress. All three will be simple (hopefully :).

The photo above is my design for the circle skirt. The trees will be the bottom border while the others will be placed randomly.......

I hope that I can pull this off!!!!!!

Mia's Hoodie

I just got finished appliquéing my little gals hoodie. The heart and bear are cut from a vintage pillow case that I found at a thrift store ages ago. The bear is soooo cute! Mia loves it:)

Sewing Project: Mia's Bunny
